Winter Fun

 Only 10 minutes to SKI ELK MOUNTAIN and about a half hour to SKI SNOMOUNTAIN for DOWNHILL/ALPINE SKIING, SNOWBOARDING, and TUBING.  See our LINKS page for further info

Centrally located in the middle of over two hundred miles of gently sloping trails (mostly abandoned railroad beds), one can CROSS COUNTRY SKI out and loop back to the Motel using a different route each day or driving/get driven to easily accessed drop off points and doing the same. The map on the right shows some of the many trails in the immediate Motel area (The Inn is in the middle of this map). Also available nearby are Lackawanna State Park & other parks for Cross Country Skiing too. Best of all the CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IS FREE. Enjoy the outdoors and get some real exercise.  If you want an even bigger challange you can SNOWSHOE on and off the trails, Game Lands, State Parks etc...

The VACATION INN MOTEL is on the main connecting trail between the two abandoned railroad beds all of which are groomed on a regular basis.  SNOWMOBILING is permitted with PERMITS on the trails and one can access the trails by driving out of the parking lot of the Motel right onto the trail.   NEW WEBSITE for info on local snowmobiling  is http://nepsnotrails.snowclubs.com  .

There are many ponds and lakes open to the public that provide good ICE FISHING with pickerel, trout, and even bass caught through the ice.

	The Vacation Inn Motel is centrally located in the heart of a winter wonderland with 2 major Ski areas one only 15 minutes (Elk Mountain) and the other (Montage/Sno Mountain) less than an hour away and Snowmobiling and Cross-Country skiing right out the door of your room.
